“The heart of man “plans” his way,
But the Lord “establishes” his steps”
Proverbs 16:9 ESV Study Bible
Well, it is 5:05 p.m. and my well made plans were interrupted today. Have you ever had one of those days? My plans were to “rise early”, take my “Daily Step”, go to my office for just “a little while”, go to the grocery store and be home by “noon”. So, that I could spend the afternoon (Oh! I forgot to put “do a load of laundry in the above sentence”) writing on my blog and editing our class material for our upcoming trip to Egypt to do “Marriage Retreats”. But, my husband needed for me to help him …help his mother with some personal business errands today. No problem….an hour at the most…right? I will tell you that just a few months ago that would have “ticked” me. Today (you would be so happy with me) I went with the flow. This is because of what the Lord “Has Led Me Through” this year. I won’t go into that now because you will learn about it in my, soon to come, Bible Study called “Hey God! I Didn’t Ask For Humility…I Asked For You To Lead Me Into A Closer Walk In The Holy Spirit”. You could say that “My Husband” established “my steps” today, but I say “The Lord” established my steps today.
As your day comes to an end, think about those well made plans you had. Forget about them and do a “Scarlet O’Hara”….”I’ll Worry About That Tomorrow, Because Tomorrow Is Another Day”. Do what you can, help others and prefer them above yourself (Romans 12:10) and Thank the Lord Almighty for establishing your steps today. Even if all you got out of it was another lesson in “Patience” and/or “Humility”. AMEN!
